In Group A, Ghana’s host nation faces off against Benin Republic and Cote d’Ivoire. Reports indicate that over 50 players from various youth tournaments have been summoned for screening, overseen by coach Manu Garba. Most invitees have already undergone the mandatory MRI age test, confirming their eligibility for participation in the WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifiers scheduled in Ghana from May 15.

Assisting Coach Manu, the team coordinator supervised the initial two training sessions held on Thursday as part of the training camp. Additionally, there are expectations for the establishment of a newly formed backroom staff soon.

Nigeria currently holds the title of defending champions in the WAFU B U17 category, having emerged victorious against Burkina Faso in the championship match held in Cape Coast, Ghana, two years ago.
