2024 Afcon Futsal Hosts, Morocco have emerged the Champions of the tournament after defeating Angola 5-1 on Sunday Evening.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have once again stamped their authority on the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON, clinching their third consecutive title with a resounding 5-1 victory over Angola in a thrilling final. In front of a packed Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall in Rabat, Hicham Dguig’s men etched their names in history alongside Egypt as the only teams to have lifted the continental championship three times.

Morocco wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with Soufiane Borite, Bilal Bakkali, Anas El Ayyane, Idriss Raiss El Fenni, and captain Soufiane El Mesrar all finding the net in a display of sheer brilliance. The hosts launched into action from the opening whistle, with El Mesrar and Soufian Charraoui threatening to break the deadlock early on. Their efforts paid off when Borite capitalized on Raiss El Fenni’s delivery, slotting home to give Morocco the lead just six minutes into the game.

However, Angola swiftly responded through Aderito Santo, who leveled the score with a composed finish at the back post. Undeterred, both teams continued to push forward, vying for control of the match. It was Morocco who seized the opportunity, with Raiss El Fenni restoring their lead just before halftime, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

Before the break, Captain El Mesrar extended Morocco’s advantage with a clinical finish, capitalizing on Bilal Fenni’s precise through ball. As the game wore on, Morocco’s superiority became increasingly evident, culminating in late strikes from El Ayyane and Bakkali to seal their emphatic victory. With this triumph, Morocco, Angola, and Libya have earned the honor of representing the continent at the upcoming FIFA Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan later this year.
