Vice-President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to attend the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, representing President Bola Tinubu.

Stanley Nkwocha, senior special assistant to the president on media and communications, announced this in a statement on Sunday.

The summit, organised by the Corporate Council on Africa, will bring together political and business leaders from Africa, the US, and beyond. Shettima will participate in high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and the plenary during the summit.

“He (Shettima) is also scheduled to speak on a high-level panel on agribusiness, focusing on transiting from food insecurity to thriving agribusinesses,” he said.

“Additionally, the Vice-President will speak at a plenary session on Navigating Africa’s Energy Future as well as chair a session dedicated to promoting the ‘invest in Nigeria’ initiative.

“He is also expected to attend other meetings and engagements on the sideline of the summit.”

Nkwocha said other African leaders expected at the event are Liberia President Joseph Boakai, Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera, and Angolan President Joao Lourenço among others.
