President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has assured that the new Super Eagles Coach would have a house of his choice and a driver for smooth operation.

Gusau made these assurances during the official unveiling of Finidi George as the New Super Eagles coach, held in Abuja, where Finidi’s assistants were also introduced. Finidi, who previously served as an assistant to Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro, was appointed as the head coach last month, beating out other candidates including Emmanuel Amuneke and U.S. men’s U-19 coach, Michael Nsien.

The 56-year-old Finidi will be working with ex-international, Daniel Amokachi and Benjamin James as assistants, Olatunji Baruwa as the goalkeepers’ trainer, Chima Onyeike as the fitness trainer, and Turk Mehmet Ozturk as the match analyst.
Gusau emphasized that Finidi’s salary would be paid regularly to avoid conflicts. He also stated that while other assistants would be engaged on an invitational basis, they would be entitled to allowances for matches, qualifiers, or tournaments they participate in.
Gusau assured Nigerians of the NFF’s commitment to support Finidi and meet his needs. He mentioned that as part of his contract, Finidi would receive a comfortable house in Nigeria, transportation, and a driver.

With his first real test less than a month away, the ex-international says his target is to qualify the Eagles for the 2026 World Cup. “If you get to see my contract, it’s boldly written there what the NFF wants. But personally, my first target is to reach the 2026 World Cup and AFCON qualifiers will be coming up soon. But the major ones are these two games we have which are against South Africa and Benin Republic. From there we will set the tone and take it from there,”.
