Nigeria’s Table Tennis Star, Aruna Quadri reclaimed the ITTF Africa Cup title by winning the 2024 edition at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

Fresh from his success at the WTT Saudi Smash, top seed, Aruna delivered a dominant performance in the final against Egypt’s Mohamed El-Beiali, securing a 4-0 victory (11-5, 11-6, 12-10, 11-3). The World No. 19 speaking to AAN said “There is never an easy win in any competition, and I am happy that my best effort resulted in victory. I always strive not to give up, even when facing challenges, and I am pleased that my hard work paid off. I must commend Rwanda for providing excellent facilities and hospitality for the players. I look forward to returning to this beautiful country.”
In the women’s competition, Meshref showcased her resilience by coming back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat her compatriot Mariam Alhodaby 4-3, becoming the new Africa Cup champion after losing in the finals of the last two editions.
The tournament featured over 50 players from 14 countries, serving as a precursor to the African Olympic Qualification Tournament, scheduled for May 16-18.
