The semi-finalists for the CAF African Schools Football Championship Continental Finals 2024 have been determined after another thrilling day of competition in Zanzibar.

The Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar has been the focal point of the championship, showcasing intense African youth football from May 21st to 24th, with CAF’s Zonal Union champions competing for continental glory.

In the girls’ division, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, and Morocco secured the final four spots as the competition progressed. In the boys’ category, Tanzania joined their girls’ team in the semi-finals alongside Benin, Guinea, and Senegal, setting up an exciting lineup for Day 3 of the tournament on Thursday, May 23rd.

In the girls’ category, Tanzania edged out Congo with a 1-0 victory in the opening fixture, while South Africa achieved the same result against Gambia. Uganda defeated Togo 2-0 in an entertaining match and also edged The Gambia in their final game of the day. South Africa’s 1-0 win over The Gambia and a goalless draw with Togo secured their spot in the next stage. Morocco triumphed 2-1 over Congo in their only match of the day, completing the semi-final lineup for the girls’ category.

In the boys’ category, Tanzania secured their place in the last four with a 1-0 victory over Uganda. Guinea advanced with a 1-0 win over South Africa and a 3-0 walkover against Libya. Benin were the biggest winners of the day, defeating Libya 4-1 and narrowly beating South Africa 1-0 to complete the semi-final matchups.

Girls:

  • Tanzania 1-0 Congo
  • South Africa 1-0 Gambia
  • Uganda 2-0 Togo
  • Congo 1-2 Morocco
  • South Africa 0-0 Togo
  • Gambia 0-2 Uganda

Boys:

  • Tanzania 1-0 Uganda
  • South Africa 0-1 Guinea
  • Libya 1-4 Benin
  • Uganda 0-0 Senegal
  • South Africa 0-1 Benin
  • Libya 0-3 Guinea

Semi-Finals Fixtures – Thursday, May 23:

Boys:

  • 16:30 – Guinea vs. Senegal
  • 17:30 – Tanzania vs. Benin

Girls:

  • 18:30 – Uganda vs. Morocco
  • 19:30 – Tanzania vs. South Africa
