A Kano State High Court, led by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, has directed the Kano State Commissioner of Police to swiftly evict Aminu Bayero from the Nasarawa Palace.
This decision, handed down on Monday, May 27, also includes an interim injunction preventing Aminu Ado Bayero and four other dethroned emirs from Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye from presenting themselves as emirs until a further hearing.
The ruling came after Justice Aliyu considered an ex-parte application by the applicants’ counsel, Barrister Ibrahim Isa Wangida.

The court’s order mandates that the police take control of the Emir of Kano’s palace on State Road and remove Bayero. This measure is to be enforced immediately in the interest of justice and peace in Kano.
Additionally, the court has scheduled a hearing for the motion on notice on June 11, 2024. The decision aims to maintain order and ensure the proper legal process is followed regarding the status of the emirs.
