A Department of State Services (DSS) operative has told the Federal High Court in Abuja that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), enjoyed presidential treatment while in their custody.

The witness, known as Mr CCC, dismissed Kanu’s claims that he was subjected to threats and duress to extract statements from him, stating that Kanu was treated well and made the statements voluntarily.

The court admitted three videos, including one where Kanu inspected a radio transmitter allegedly smuggled into the country, and heard testimony from Kanu himself, who claimed he was struck by a DSS operative in 2015 but later apologized.

The judge adjourned the matter till Thursday for continuation of the hearing and to deliver a ruling on the admissibility of the statements.
