The Federal Government aims to achieve 70% digitalization of its services by 2025 in partnership with the private sector, according to Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone (GBB).

Speaking at the ‘1Government Cloud Digitalisation’ Retreat for federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Abuja, Adeyanju outlined the agency’s plan to improve citizen services through a unified ‘Government Service Portal’ offering access to all MDAs.

To support this vision, GBB has introduced the 1Government Cloud, a combination of infrastructure and software designed to provide MDAs with necessary software and secure data storage.

Adeyanju emphasized the importance of rapid digitalization of MDAs and highlighted the new Software as a Service framework as key to this effort.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Faruk Yabo, underscored the importance of data sovereignty, stressing that Nigeria must govern its data to protect national security.

He advocated for local partnerships to enhance digital capabilities, create jobs, and foster economic growth by leveraging indigenous talent and solutions.
