The president of Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT),Samuel Eto’o, has issued a call for calm and extended his apologies following the recent altercation with Belgian coach, Marc Brys.

It was earlier reported that the governing body cited “disrespectful comments” by Brys, “an outright refusal to collaborate,” and “inappropriate behavior” by the coach and his assistants as reasons for the replacement.

However, Etoo has now confirmed his acceptance of Brys’ appointment and reiterated his unwavering support for the new Cameroon coach in preparation for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Eto’o stated, “I’m pleased to have engaged in dialogue with the coach, to whom I have also offered my apologies for the recent incident. Rest assured, he has my full support.”

Cameroon, currently leading Group D with 4 points from 2 matches, will host Cape Verde on June 8th, followed by an away fixture against Angola on June 11th.
