A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned a case involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Honeywell Group Chairman Oba Otudeko, along with others, to June 11 for a report on settlement talks.
The court agreed to the adjournment after the parties involved confirmed ongoing negotiations.
Otudeko’s lawyer, Bode Olanipekun, SAN, requested the adjournment to allow the negotiations to continue, while the prosecutor, Bilikisu Buhari-Bala, asked the court to adjourn for either a report on settlement or arraignment if the talks break down.
The EFCC had preferred a 13-count charge against Otudeko, former First Bank MD Olabisi Onasanya, and others.
