Tosin Ojo, the wife of Enyimba goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo, has joined other Nigerian football stakeholders in praising the Nigerian international following his transfer from Enyimba to Al-Merik F.C. of Sudan.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Tosin, the number one fan of her husband, expressed her gratitude to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), where the 28-year-old played for eleven seasons, and celebrated his achievements with various clubs.

The post read, “Thank you, NPFL. “To my dear husband, Ojo Olorunleke, as you continue your football career outside Nigeria, one thing is sure: your name has been written in the history book of the Nigeria League. “Your achievements, including promoting Giwa FC of Jos to the NPFL, winning the FA Cup with Akwa United of Uyo, and clinching the NPFL title with Enyimba FC of Aba, are truly worth celebrating. “I wish you nothing but success in your new home, Al-Merik F.C.”

Enyimba recently announced the player’s departure at the end of the season in a statement, which read, “Enyimba Football Club can announce that goalkeeper and captain, Olorunleke Ojo, will depart the club at the end of the season.

“Over the past three years, Ojo has been an integral part of our team, contributing significantly to our growth and success. His dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence have made a lasting impact on our club, and we are forever grateful. Last season, he played a crucial role in helping us win the prestigious Nigeria Professional Football League title, a moment that will be etched in our history forever.

“Ojo’s final game for Enyimba will be on Sunday against Plateau United, and we urge all our fans to come out and show their appreciation for his contributions to our great club.“For three seasons, Ojo has demonstrated dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence and will always be a part of the Enyimba family.”

Olorunleke joined the People’s Elephants from Abia Warriors in 2021 and has also played for Giwa FC, Kano Pillars, Akwa United, and Sunshine Stars FC
