The primary goal of this report is to provide comprehensive data on agricultural activities in Nigeria, with a focus on enhancing food and nutrition security and fostering economic growth.

At the launch event in Abuja, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, underscored the significance of the data gathered from the census.

He highlighted that this information would enable evidence-based policy and decision-making across various economic sectors, aligning with the renewed hope agenda in the agriculture sector.

Senator Abdullahi stated that the NASC would equip the ministry with crucial statistics to monitor agricultural food supply and identify development opportunities within the sector. He remarked, “The most significant thing about the data is that the government can now measure, and whatever you can measure, you can manage.”

Additionally, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, praised FMAFS and its development partners for their efforts in producing this critical report.
