Senator Tahir Mungono has replaced Senator Ali Ndume as the Senate Chief Whip. The upper chamber reached this unanimous decision through a voice vote after a letter of complaint from the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Headquarters was read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The letter criticized Senator Ndume for his critical remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, highlighting issues such as economic hardship, food scarcity, and the resulting security crisis.
