Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has paraded one Auwal Sale, a 24-year-old man for his involvement in the vandalization of public transformers and siphoning insulating oil.

The suspect, Auwal Sale, a resident of Sangerie, FUTY, and an indigene of Gombi LGA was apprehended by the special anti-vandal squad of the Corps during a surveillance operation targeting critical national assets and infrastructure in Sangerie FUTY Transformer, Geire local government area.

A statement signed by the public relations officer of the command, DSC Nyako Amidu Baba, made available to Nigeria Tribune in Yola, explained that at the time of arrest, the suspect was found in possession of 10 Jerry cans of 25 liters, with four already filled with insulation oil, commonly known as transformer oil at the crime scene.

According to the statement, the PRO said investigations have revealed that the principal suspect, who is known as Daddy, managed to escape and is currently at large.

Further inquiries have indicated that an individual referred to as Alhaji, a resident of Song LGA, is involved in purchasing the stolen product.

Adding that “efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects and bring them to justice”.

The commander, Ibrahim Miinasara therefore appealed to the general public to support its efforts by providing valuable information that will aid in the fight against the vandalization of public infrastructure in the state and the country at large as it remains committed to protecting and preserving Nigeria’s critical assets and infrastructure.
