In the Maiduguri area of Borno State, police resorted to shooting to disperse unarmed protesters participating in the ongoing nationwide “End Bad Governance” demonstrations.

Footage captured by AAN TV shows protesters fleeing for safety as shots rang out.

The protests, which have spread across Nigeria, call for an end to bad governance and inflation. The situation in Borno State is particularly tense, as it follows a recent explosion reported by AAN TV that resulted in the deaths of several civilians.
