Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, has officially returned to his office, directing his staff to resume work immediately or face consequences.
In a video broadcast on X.com on Monday, Shaibu declared, “In adherence to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, I announce my official resumption to the office. God Bless Edo State, God Bless Nigeria.”
Shaibu emphasized that the recent Federal High Court judgment, which reinstated him, confirmed that his office was never vacant. He warned banks against conducting any transactions with his office without his direct authorization, labeling such actions as illegal.
Expressing concern over the recent killing of a police officer attached to the Edo APC governorship candidate, Shaibu mentioned that suspects have already been arrested in connection with the incident.
Shaibu also shared that he has requested the state governor’s approval to reinstate his aides but is still awaiting a response.
