Oshoala’s performance during the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup was nothing short of remarkable. The young forward played a crucial role in Nigeria’s journey to the final, scoring seven goals and earning both the Golden Boot as the tournament’s top scorer and the Golden Ball as the best player. Her efforts not only brought her accolades but also helped Nigeria secure a runner-up finish.

Following her success at the youth level, Oshoala quickly became a key player for the Super Falcons, contributing to their victory in the 2014 African Women’s Championship. That same year, she was named the African Women’s Footballer of the Year for the first time, a title she has since won a record six times.

Oshoala’s career has continued to flourish, making history in Europe by becoming the first African player to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League three times with Barcelona (2021, 2023, and 2024).

The Bay Fc Forward also became the first African woman to score in a UEFA Women’s Champions League final and to win the Primera División’s Pichichi Trophy. In August 2022, she made history as the first African woman to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or Féminin.

Throughout her illustrious career, Oshoala has played for top clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Barcelona.

As Nigeria prepares for the 11th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, where the Falconets will compete in Group D against Germany, South Korea, and Venezuela, Oshoala’s legacy continues to inspire the next generation of football stars.
