Folashade Oluwafemiayo has been appointed General Captain of Team Nigeria, while Lauretta Onye has been selected as the flag bearer for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Oluwafemiayo, the current World Record holder in the +86kg women’s para powerlifting category, will lead the team. Onye, a gold medalist from the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, will proudly carry the Nigerian flag during the opening ceremonies.

The 17th Summer Paralympic Games, scheduled from August 28 to September 8, 2024, will be the first time Paris hosts the event and the second time for France, following the 1992 Winter Paralympics in Tignes and Albertville.

Team Nigeria aims to surpass their previous performance at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where they won four gold, one silver, and five bronze medals, totaling ten.
