The Nigeria Police Force has reported that Andrew Wynne, a British national sought for alleged subversive activities and terrorism financing, has refused to comply with multiple invitations to answer questions about the charges against him.
Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday that Wynne had been invited several times for questioning but had failed to respond. According to Adejobi, after declining the invitations, Wynne fled the country to avoid arrest.
This development follows Wynne’s earlier claim, made during an exclusive interview with Channels Television on Monday, that he would willingly turn himself in for questioning. In the interview, Wynne denied any wrongdoing and stated that he was not aware of being a fugitive. He offered to discuss the matter via various communication platforms or even travel to London for a meeting with Nigerian High Commission officials.
