Bose Omolayo has added to Nigeria’s medal haul at the ongoing Paralympic Games by winning a silver medal in the women’s up to 79kg Para-Powerlifting event, marking the country’s sixth medal.

This is Omolayo’s third consecutive Paralympic podium finish, following her two gold medals in Rio and Tokyo.

Despite injuring her right arm after her first lift and recording two consecutive no-lifts in her subsequent attempts, she managed to lift 145kg, securing the silver medal for Nigeria.

Omolayo’s achievement brought Nigeria’s total medal count to six, underscoring the impressive performance of the nation’s Paralympians.
