Hosts Morocco edged Nigeria 4-2 on penalties to book their place in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after a tense semi-final ended goalless following extra time on Wednesday night.

Both sides battled through 120 minutes without finding the breakthrough in a tightly contested encounter, with chances at a premium and defences largely on top.

The match was eventually decided from the penalty spot, where Morocco held their nerve to convert four of their kicks, while Nigeria missed two, handing the hosts victory in front of their home supporters.

With the win, Morocco advance to Sunday’s final, where they will face Senegal, who defeated Egypt 1-0 in the other semi-final courtesy of a late Sadio Mané strike.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Egypt for a third place match.

More details shortly..
