The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results for underage candidates, but the Board says viewing the scores does not mean automatic admission.
According to JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocols, Fabian Benjamin, an underage candidate is anyone who will be below 16 years of age as of September 30, 2026.
The Board said the results were made available so candidates, parents and guardians can see how the students performed. JAMB stressed that the scores will only be considered for admission in exceptional cases.
To qualify under the exceptional admission window, candidates must prove both academic ability and maturity. They will also go through additional stages of assessment and verification by JAMB and the admitting institution.
The key requirements are:
- UTME score: a minimum of 320
- SSCE performance: at least 80 percent in relevant Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination subjects, where applicable
JAMB added that only candidates who meet all the conditions will be eligible to proceed, despite having access to their results now.
