English Championship club, Luton Town has announced the signing of retired Nigeria forward, Victor Moses.

Moses, a versatile 33-year-old who can play both as a winger and a fullback, has been without a club since his contract with Spartak Moscow expired. He joined the Russian club permanently in 2021 after his tenure at Chelsea ended.

During his time at Chelsea, Moses enjoyed a successful stint, winning the Premier League title, the FA Cup, and the Europa League under managers Antonio Conte and Rafael Benitez. However, despite these achievements, Moses spent much of his nine-year spell at Chelsea on loan to various clubs, including Liverpool, Inter Milan, Stoke City, West Ham, Fenerbahce, and Spartak Moscow. Spartak eventually signed him permanently following the conclusion of his loan.

In his time with Spartak Moscow, Moses made 84 appearances, scoring ten goals and providing ten assists. Although he had a strong relationship with the club, it became strained during the Russo-Ukrainian war.

After his deal with Spartak Moscow expired at the end of last season, Moses has now returned to England, where his career began. Luton Town, recently relegated from the Premier League, has signed Moses on a one-year deal. The club hopes that his experience and talent can help them secure promotion back to the Premier League. If the season goes well, Luton Town may consider extending his contract.

Moses played a crucial role in Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations victory, contributing two goals and two assists. He also represented Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup but made the surprising decision to retire from international football at just 27 years old.
