According to a statement by Command spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe, police operatives are currently trailing the armed assailants who committed the crime. Preliminary investigations reveal that the hoodlums, operating in a Toyota Corolla car, double-crossed and shot Aniago before making off with his blue-colored Toyota Corolla car.

Aniago was rushed to the hospital by police operatives but was pronounced dead by doctors. His corpse has been deposited in the mortuary for further investigation.

Commissioner of Police Kanayo Uzuegbu has ordered tactical squads to deploy all necessary resources to hunt down the assailants. He has also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID to conduct a discreet investigation into the incident.

CP Kanayo assures the public that the police will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible.”
