The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) swiftly responded, rescuing the injured passengers, who were all rushed to Gbagada General Hospital by the Lagos State Ambulance Services (LASAMBUS).

The victims sustained multiple fractures and are receiving urgent medical attention.

Police units from Bariga and Alonge Police Stations provided security during the rescue operation, ensuring the situation was managed safely and traffic was restored.

LASTMA has reiterated the need for drivers to observe speed limits and drive cautiously, highlighting the tragic consequences of reckless driving. The agency also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Earlier in the day, another accident occurred on the bridge involving a Honda CRV, which overturned due to excessive speeding. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in that incident, and LASTMA quickly cleared the wreckage to avoid further disruption to traffic
