The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed off several establishments across the state due to alleged noise pollution. The facilities include churches, guest houses, a printing press, and bars, all found in violation of environmental regulations.

In a statement released on Wednesday, LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, said the agency’s action is part of efforts to enforce compliance with environmental laws and protect public health. Areas affected by the clampdown include Ikeja, Mushin, Gbagada, and Maryland.

Among the sealed establishments are Vital Products Limited, A&P Nigeria Limited, Polite Anchorage and Suites, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and Terrag Inn Apartment. Others include Evening Class Guest House, Celestial Church of God, a printing press, Charley’s Bar, and 7th Heaven Hotel & Suites.

Dr. Ajayi stated that despite several warnings from the agency, these facilities continued to violate noise pollution regulations. He urged businesses to take their environmental responsibilities seriously and work with the state government to ensure a cleaner, more sustainable Lagos.

“In a decisive step towards tackling noise pollution and other environmental violations, LASEPA has sealed multiple establishments across various parts of Lagos,” the statement reads. “We will not tolerate non-compliance with our regulations,” Ajayi emphasized, reinforcing the agency’s zero-tolerance policy.
