(VIDEO) NIGERIA : Two-Storey Building Collapse in Orile-Iganmu Area of Lagos State

A two-storey building has collapsed in the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos. A video posted on social media captured the moment of the collapse, showing occupants and onlookers fleeing for safety.

According to reports, all occupants had evacuated the building before the incident, and emergency responders confirmed that no casualties have been confirmed yet. “We have personnel on the ground,” confirmed LASEMA’s Public Affairs Head, Mr. Nosa Okunbor.

Responders at the scene include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LRT), Lagos State Fire Service (LASG FIRE), Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), and the Nigeria Police Force. They have recommended the evacuation of the site to prevent further incidents.

An assessment of a nearby two-storey building revealed that it is also distressed and unsafe for residents. All occupants have since been evacuated from that building as a precautionary measure.
