Ahead of the U17 African Cup of Nations qualifier, the WAFU A regional competition is facing a major crisis.

The African soccer governing body’s medical department announced on Sunday that three teams from the region—Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau—have been disqualified from the tournament.

The disqualification follows the failure of these teams’ players to pass the mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans.

As a result, the remaining teams—Senegal, Mali, Liberia, Gambia, and Mauritania—will compete in the tournament, with all countries playing in the same group.
