The CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2024 will see defending champions, Senegal face off against first-time finalists, Mauritania on Saturday, October 26, at 15:30 local time.

The two-week tournament now reaches its thrilling conclusion in Hurghada, with the continental title set to be decided between these two teams, who met earlier in Group B, where Mauritania pulled off a stunning 5-2 victory.

After a rocky start, Senegal regained momentum in the semi-finals, defeating hosts and favorites, Egypt 2-1 with goals from Mandione Diagne and Ninou Diatta. This win puts the defending champions in a strong position to retain their title, though they’ll face a determined Mauritanian side that upset them in the group stage.

Mauritania’s journey has been nothing short of a fairytale, with their impressive 7-4 semi-final victory over Morocco securing them a spot in the final. Mouhamedou Wedou, who netted a hat-trick against Morocco, will be a key player to watch as Mauritania aims to cap their debut with the trophy.
By reaching the final, Senegal and Mauritania have also qualified to represent Africa at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, joining hosts Seychelles for the tournament’s first African edition, set to take place from May 1 to 11, 2025.

Ahead of the final, Egypt and Morocco will compete in the third-place play-off, a high-stakes match between these North African rivals vying for a spot on the podium. Both the final and the third-place match will be broadcast live on CAF’s Official YouTube Channel, CAF TV.
