The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs) has officially handed over a newly built, state-of-the-art 20-bed primary healthcare center and a renovated primary health center to the Isokun community in Oyo West Local Government Area, Oyo State.

Represented by Q.S. She emphasized that projects like these reflect the SDGs’ goal to end poverty, protect the planet, and foster prosperity for all by 2030.

In line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Princess Orelope-Adefulire stressed the importance of prioritizing critical interventions, including healthcare, education, and vocational skills, to address multidimensional poverty. The new facility, equipped with modern medical tools, will serve as a pivotal healthcare resource for residents, especially in light of the strain placed on healthcare systems by the COVID-19 pandemic.

She further emphasized that OSSAP-SDGs is committed to fostering sustainable healthcare infrastructure and urged both state and local governments to ensure the facility’s longevity for the benefit of the community. This aligns with the SDG-3 goal, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages.

Oyo Central Senator, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, who was instrumental in facilitating the project, expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu and OSSAP-SDGs for selecting his constituency for this substantial development. He highlighted the center as the largest primary health facility in Oyo State and affirmed the state’s commitment to its full utilization as part of a broader health strategy aimed at reducing the need for residents to seek medical treatment outside the constituency.

Among other notable attendees was Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, who praised OSSAP-SDGs for delivering such a top-tier facility to the Oyo Central community.
