The Coordinator of International Men’s Day (IMD) Nigeria, Anmi Falobi, has called on Nigerians to honor the vital contributions of men to society, emphasizing their role in creating a better world for all.

He noted that IMD, observed in over 90 countries, provides a platform to celebrate men and their positive impact, urging Nigeria to actively participate in the commemoration.

“International Men’s Day is an opportunity to draw attention to the values, character, and responsibilities associated with being a man,” Mr. Falobi stated. He underscored the importance of engaging stakeholders, including government, private sector, organizations, families, and individuals, in initiatives to mark the day.

He added, “We must share perspectives and ideals that enhance and celebrate the contributions of men to their families, workplaces, society, and national life. Considering the unique challenges faced by Nigerian men, IMD provides an opportunity for corporate organizations, government institutions, businesses, and religious bodies to highlight men’s positive values and their impact on society.”

Mr. Falobi emphasized that IMD is not only about celebrating and appreciating men who contribute positively but also about motivating them to take active roles in building a safer, better, and more inclusive society. The day serves as a reminder of the critical role men play in shaping families, communities, and the nation as a whole.
