The Borno State Government has approved a sum of N1.6 billion for the rehabilitation of 33 schools impacted by recent floods across the state.
Alhaji Lawan Abba-Wakilbe, the Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, announced the decision on Saturday, highlighting the state’s commitment to restoring critical educational infrastructure.
The rehabilitation project aims to provide safe and conducive learning environments for students in the affected local government areas, including Maiduguri, Jere, Mafa, Konduga, Chibok, and Damboa.
The move underscores the government’s dedication to prioritizing education despite the challenges posed by natural disasters.
