Nigeria’s influence is strongly felt on the final shortlist for the 2024 CAF Women’s Awards, with players, teams, and coaches earning multiple nominations.

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has secured a prestigious double nomination. The Paris FC shot-stopper is in contention for both CAF Women’s Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year, underscoring her status as one of Africa’s finest talents.
In the Player of the Year category, Nnadozie faces stiff competition from Malawi’s sisters, Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga, Morocco’s Sanaâ Mssoudy, and Zambia’s Barbra Banda. For the Goalkeeper of the Year accolade, she is up against Fideline Ngoy (DR Congo), Khadija Er-Rmichi (Morocco), and Andile Dlamini (South Africa).
Adding to Nigeria’s strong representation, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu of Rivers Angels has been nominated for Young Player of the Year, joining four other rising stars from Morocco, Egypt, and South Africa.

The Super Falcons are contenders for Women’s National Team of the Year, competing with Morocco, South Africa, Zambia, and Cameroon U-20.
Nigeria’s contributions to coaching have also been recognized, with Falconets coach Chris Danjuma shortlisted for Women’s Coach of the Year, highlighting his impact on the U-20 team.

On the club side, Edo Queens, reigning Nigerian Women’s League champions, have earned a spot in the race for Women’s Club of the Year.
The winners will be chosen through votes cast by the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, and football stakeholders. The awards ceremony is set to take place on December 16, 2024, in Marrakech, Morocco.
