The remains of renowned Islamic scholar, Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello, will be laid to rest today, Friday, after Asr prayer, in accordance with Islamic funeral rites.
The burial will take place at his Akobo residence in Ibadan, Oyo State capital where preparations are already in full swing.
A source confirmed that the grave has been dug, stating, “The grave is ready, and the burial will proceed according to Islamic tradition after Asr prayer.”
The 84 year old cleric died Friday morning at his residence in Ibadan.
The announcement of his demise was made by another prominent Islamic scholar, Alfa Aribidesi of At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’awah on Friday morning.

Corroborating the news of demise, popular cleric and follower of the late Bello, who is also an Islamic singer, Alhaji Basit Olarenwaju popularly known as Aponle Anabi and also Alhaji Taofeeq Akeugbagold shared the news on their respective social media handles.
Earlier today, a complete recitation of the Quran was performed as a prayer for the deceased after the Jumu’ah prayer at the Central Mosque within his residence.
The recitation was attended by family members, clerics, and sympathisers who gathered to honor his memory.
Bello’s contributions to Islamic scholarship and his unwavering commitment to truth and unity have left an indelible mark on the Muslim Ummah.
His burial is expected to draw a large crowd of mourners as the nation bids farewell to a spiritual giant.
