Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence from ECOWAS Member States are currently meeting in Abuja, Nigeria, for the 53rd Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Mediation and Security Council (MSC) at the Ministerial Level.

The session, hosted at the ECOWAS Commission Headquarters, follows the 52nd MSC meeting held in July, which addressed key regional security and political challenges. The previous meeting also emphasized the importance of democratic transitions and the conduct of peaceful elections across member states.
