Bello Bodejo, president of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has been detained by the Nigerian Army since Tuesday, sparking concerns from his family.
According to his brother, Suleiman Waziri, Bodejo was arrested over an incident involving some herders and a retired army general in the Tudun Wada area of Nasarawa State.
The general reportedly discharged firearms at a herd of cattle, causing significant losses for the herders, who then disarmed him and reported the matter to the police.
However, Waziri emphasized that Bodejo was not involved in the incident and only intervened to help secure the release of confiscated cattle, which led to his unfair detention.
The family has called for Bodejo’s immediate and unconditional release, citing a lack of evidence linking him to any wrongdoing.
This is not the first time Bodejo has faced arrest. On January 23, he was detained for unveiling a vigilante group in Nasarawa State. The Federal Government had previously arraigned him on a three-count charge bordering on terrorism.
