Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Dubai for Saudi Arabia after representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commissioning of Oriental Energy Resources Limited’s $315 million oil production and storage facility.
This was disclosed by Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President).
Shettima was seen off at the Dubai airport by Oriental Energy’s Executive Chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, and Executive Vice Chairman, Engr. Goni M. Sheikh, among others.
From December 16 to 19, 2024, the Vice President will perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah, accompanied by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum.
Following his spiritual visit, Shettima will hold a bilateral meeting on December 20 with the President of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah. The discussions will focus on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and enhancing the coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria to boost agricultural and economic development.
