President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has congratulated Ademola Lookman, forward for Atalanta and the Super Eagles, on winning the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio also celebrated Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for being named the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, as well as the Super Falcons for clinching the Women’s National Team of the Year award.
Commending Lookman’s stellar achievements, Akpabio remarked: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to one of Nigeria’s finest footballers and international stars, Ademola Lookman, on his well-deserved recognition as CAF Men’s Player of the Year. This prestigious award reflects Lookman’s dedication, hard work, and remarkable talent on the pitch.”

He further lauded Nnadozie’s consistent excellence, stating: “Chiamaka Nnadozie’s second consecutive win as Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year is a testament to her incredible performance and commitment. Her success serves as a beacon of inspiration for young Nigerian girls aspiring to achieve greatness in sports.”
Akpabio also praised the Super Falcons for their resilience and teamwork: “The Super Falcons’ recognition as the Women’s National Team of the Year is a remarkable achievement, showcasing their determination, unity, and pursuit of excellence. These accomplishments highlight Nigeria’s vast sporting potential and bring pride to the nation.”

He assured Nigerians that the Senate and the National Assembly under his leadership will continue to support sports development through legislative measures and adequate funding to harness the nation’s sporting talent.
