Security measures were significantly heightened at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja today as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu prepared to present the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives.

Armed police officers were strategically positioned at key entry points, including the Main Gate, Villa Gate, and Annex Gates, ensuring strict access control.

Only individuals with proper accreditation were allowed into the premises. Despite the heightened security, the accreditation process proceeded smoothly and without incident.

The usually vibrant complex appeared subdued, with restricted human and vehicular movement. The once-busy foyer and corridors stood largely empty as final preparations were made for the president’s arrival.

President Tinubu is set to unveil a budgetary estimate of ₦47.96 trillion for 2025. According to the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, the budget framework is anchored on an oil price benchmark of $75 per barrel, a production capacity of 2.06 million barrels per day, and an exchange rate of ₦1,400 to a dollar.
