In a significant move towards promoting environmental sustainability, the Environmental and Waste Management Committee of the Lagos State Youth Parliament (LSYP) held a successful cleanup exercise on December 12, 2024, at Ajenifuja, Oshodi.

The initiative underscored the committee’s commitment to fostering a cleaner and more welcoming Lagos, especially with the Christmas festivities approaching.

Also in attendance were the President of the Rotary Club and numerous youth and student stakeholders from Oshodi.

During the exercise, participants advocated for a culture of cleanliness, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a tidy environment, particularly as Lagos prepares to host a surge of visitors during the festive season.

The Super for Health urged community members to embrace cleanliness as a lifestyle, stressing its role in public health and environmental safety.
The Speaker of the Lagos State Youth Parliament commended the Chairman of the Environmental and Waste Management Committee and its members for their dedication and efforts in executing the initiative. Similarly, the Woman Leader of Oshodi expressed gratitude for the impactful effort towards a cleaner community.
Representatives from the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) were also on hand to assist in waste collection, ensuring proper disposal of the waste generated during the cleanup exercise.
This initiative serves as a clarion call to all constituencies in Lagos West to actively participate in keeping their communities clean, fostering a healthy environment, and ensuring Lagos remains a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
