Prominent Muslim organisations in Nigeria, led by the Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC), have rallied together to raise awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The event, held at Johnson Jakande Tinubu (JJT) Park, Ikeja, Lagos, served as the culmination of a three-day campaign tagged #NigeriaForGaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire and global action against what they described as a genocidal war that has claimed over 45,000 Palestinian lives, predominantly women and children.

The campaign urged Nigerians, regardless of their faith, to join the call for justice and advocate for the rights of the Palestinian people, who have lived under Israeli occupation since 1967.
Participants were also encouraged to boycott brands and companies funding Israeli actions in Gaza.

Solidarity and Awareness
The event featured panel discussions, goodwill messages, and the distribution of educational materials to shed light on the crisis. Among the notable speakers were:
- Jubril Folami (Muslim Media Practitioner of Nigeria)
- Hajia Mutiat Orolu-Balogun (Hijab Rights Advocacy Initiative)
- Comrade Qazim Iposun (The Academy)
- Hajia Zaynab AbdurRazaq (Guild of Muslim Professionals)
A Stand Against Injustice
In his opening remarks, Mal. Kamor Disu, Executive Chairman of MPAC Nigeria, highlighted the enduring pain and resilience of the Palestinian people. He emphasized the global responsibility to stand against occupation, apartheid, and oppression, calling on attendees to act in solidarity and remain committed to advocating for Palestinian freedom.
Voices from the Event
Dr. Jubril Salaudeen, a financial expert, described the programme as a moral duty to expose injustice and rally support for Gaza. He emphasized that Islam prohibits injustice in all its forms and urged communities worldwide to unite against oppression.
Rasheed Saliu, a committee member of MPAC Nigeria, stressed the interconnectedness of global humanity, likening the plight of Gaza to a wound on the body that affects the whole.
He reiterated the importance of raising awareness, boycotting complicit brands, and mobilizing collective action to end the suffering of Palestinians.
The event concluded with a strong message: solidarity, education, and sustained advocacy remain critical tools in the fight for Palestinian freedom and justice.
