Nigerian troops under Operation Fansan Yamma have intensified their offensive against terrorist groups in the North West, eliminating prominent leaders in separate operations across Katsina and Zamfara States.
In Katsina State, an operation in Mai Sheka village, Kunchin Kalgo town, resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists, including a notorious kingpin, Alhaji Ma’oli. Intelligence reports revealed Ma’oli’s involvement in imposing illegal levies and orchestrating criminal activities in Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, Unguwar Dan Halima, Unguwar Dan Mairo, and Katangan Yamma. This successful operation dismantled a major terrorist network, bringing much-needed relief to the local population, who had long endured Ma’oli’s oppressive actions.

In Zamfara State, troops of Counter Terrorism Team 7 (CT 7), conducting a patrol along the Bilbis-Danjigba axis in Tsafe Local Government Area, encountered bandits on December 25. During the clash, Kachalla Muchelli, a notorious bandit commander and leader of the Kuchi Kalgo camp, was neutralized.

Military sources emphasized that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to eradicate banditry and terrorism in the region, contributing to enhanced security and peace for affected communities.
