Nigeria Professional Football League Club, Enyimba FC has officially announced the signing of former Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye, marking a significant addition to the team.

The club confirmed the deal in a statement shared on its X account on Monday, revealing that Ideye will don the number 34 jersey for the remainder of the season.
“We are delighted to officially announce the addition of former Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye, to our team,” the club’s post read. “We are confident his experience and professionalism will boost our quest in the remaining games of the season, especially under our new gaffer.”

Ideye, who has been without a club since leaving Al Yarmouk in Kuwait in 2022, returns to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after a 17-year absence. He last played in the league for Ocean Boys in 2006 before embarking on a successful career in Europe.
At 36, Ideye brings a wealth of experience to Enyimba, having been a key part of the Super Eagles squad that triumphed at the 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The signing highlights Enyimba’s intent to bolster their squad for the second half of the NPFL season and their CAF Confederation Cup campaign. This development comes on the heels of significant changes within the club. Following a challenging nine-game winless streak, Enyimba parted ways with head coach Yemi Olanrewaju. The team swiftly appointed Stanley Eguma to take charge of the “People’s Elephant.”
Ideye’s arrival signals a new chapter for Enyimba as they aim to restore their dominance in Nigerian football and make an impact on the continental stage.
