Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shiban announced on Tuesday via social media that he had a phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty.
The discussion centered on the pivotal roles both nations play in fostering peace and stability in the region.
In an official statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry highlighted Abdelatty’s reaffirmation of Egypt’s support for the Syrian people and their legitimate aspirations. He urged all stakeholders to safeguard Syria’s national institutions, unity, and sovereignty.
Abdelatty also stressed the need for a political process that embraces an inclusive approach, ensuring representation across Syria’s societal, religious, sectarian, and ethnic spectrum.
Both ministers concluded their conversation with a commitment to maintaining regular communication to further strengthen bilateral relations and collaborative efforts for regional peace.
