A British woman and her South African fiancé have been discovered dead in their holiday villa in Hoi An, Vietnam, according to local police reports.
Greta Marie Otteson, 33, a social media manager, was found lifeless on a bed in a first-floor room of the villa at approximately 11:18 local time (04:18 GMT) on December 26.
Her fiancé, Els Arno Quinton, 36, a musician and livestreamer, was discovered in another locked room within the villa.
Authorities noted no signs of external injuries or forced entry, and several empty wine bottles were reportedly found at the scene. The couple had been registered for long-term temporary residence at the Hoa Chuong villa in Cam Thanh commune since last summer.
A video celebrating their engagement was shared on Instagram by Red Eye Studios on December 11.
The UK Foreign Office confirmed they are in contact with local authorities and are providing support to Ms. Otteson’s family. Investigations into the cause of their deaths remain ongoing.
