President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday paid an official visit to His Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos, at the historic Iga Idunganran Palace.
In a statement shared on his X handle on Saturday, President Tinubu emphasized the significant role traditional institutions and their leaders play in shaping society and fostering development.

“Today, I had the honor of visiting His Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos, at the historic Iga Idunganran Palace, a site rich in culture and tradition,” the president noted.
During the meeting, Tinubu and Oba Akiolu engaged in discussions about the challenges facing Nigeria and the critical contributions of traditional institutions as partners in governance. The conversation underscored the importance of leveraging Nigeria’s traditional values to build a cohesive and prosperous society.
“We discussed Nigeria’s challenges and emphasized the importance of leveraging our traditional values in building a cohesive society that promotes prosperity for all citizens. Thank you, Kabiyesi, for the opportunity of this important meeting,” Tinubu wrote.

The visit further highlights the president’s commitment to engaging with traditional leaders to strengthen collaboration for national development.
