Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially appointed Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo. The announcement was made on Friday through a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

Owoade’s appointment comes more than two years after the passing of the late Alaafin, Lamidi Adeyemi, who ruled from 1970 until his death in 2022.
