Newly appointed Nigeria national team coach, Eric Chelle, is facing a challenging task in breaking his contract with his current club, MC Oran of Algeria, according to reports.
While Chelle was officially announced as the new head coach of Nigeria’s senior national team two days ago, his appointment is complicated by MC Oran’s dissatisfaction with the way the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) handled the announcement while Chelle is still under contract.

Although Chelle’s contract includes a clause permitting him to leave for a national team offer, MC Oran is seeking compensation due to the NFF’s decision to announce the coach without consulting the club.

Discussions are ongoing to finalize his release, and sources indicate that Chelle is willing to pay the fee demanded by the Algerian club. He had already given the NFF permission to announce his appointment.

Negotiations are reportedly progressing, with Chelle expected to travel to France soon and then to Nigeria on Monday.
