Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government, and people of Niger State.

He also lamented the preventable nature of the incident, noting that many casualties were individuals scooping fuel from the overturned tanker.

In response to the tragedy, the President has directed the provision of comprehensive medical care to those injured and instructed security agencies and road safety authorities to implement stricter measures to prevent similar disasters in the future.

He emphasized the need for citizens to exercise caution and avoid accident sites, particularly those involving fuel-laden vehicles, due to the high risk of explosions.

To address the root cause of such incidents, Tinubu has mandated the National Orientation Agency to launch a nationwide public education campaign.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of scooping fuel from fallen tankers and the severe environmental and safety risks associated with such actions.
